yes, go to your local post office. You will also need a visitors visa, and you can get it online (your airline will tell you where to look online)

if you are a u.s. citizen - yes . you will also need a visitor's visa as well. you can get a passport application on line at the folowing website:

this is a u.s. department of state website and is the most dependable one for passport information as well as visa procedures.

you can also obtain a passport application at any u.s. post office. the passport application explains all document requirements and photo requirements.

you will need to obtain your passport before applying for a visa to australia (as you wil have to provide your passport to the australian consulate)

i also hope you have quite a bit of time as the wait time for passports is quite lengthy (currently running at least 8 months)

it is well worth the wait - i have been to australia three times and loved it!

If your in any other country than Austrailia then yes, you need one. I'm in the U.S.... If you've never had a passport before then you need to pick up a form from the Post Office, fill it out, take a picture, and send it in... costs between $120-$175 last time I checked.

Anyone entering or leaving Australia requires a passport to be checked by immigration. If you are not an Australian citizen you will also require a visa.

If you are in the USA, there currently is a 12 week backlog of passport applications, so if you are planning to come here soon, then you should apply straight away.

well um let me think...YES you need a passport to travel to any country you can go to the post office and ask them for the forms i recently moved to the usa from down under and it takes a LONG time to get your passport not to mention a visa
