I think that New Zealand would be a great place to live, it has lots of activities, and plenty of places to have holidays as well as plenty of work and infrastructure. The people are really nice, its very peaceful and quiet. You couldn't really go wrong with living there. |

New Zealand would rank second only to Australia. Having moved down under 36 years ago from the USA, I wouldn't return to live in the northern hemisphere. It is just too good here. |

Bad in what way? There is an old saying that the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence, but it isn't necessarily true. What makes you think that there will be some kind of idyllic place elsewhere. People are people are people and they all have the same ambitions, same likes and dislikes, racism, fatism, sexism don't like your face, accent, the fact that you are stuck up or whatever. Maybe I am just cynical but I honestly don't think that there is anywhere that doesn't have it's downside but I do wish you well, whatever you do. |

Depending on your priorities, that may well be the case. Here's my opinion on it:
I think that New Zealand is ideal to raise a family, go fishing, and generally live a quiet, comfy little life (I live in NZ myself, so I know what I'm saying). But it is not ideal for earning heaps of money, because that simply isn't its strong point. Plus, if you live in NZ, you realize pretty soon that you are very far away from the rest of the world, especially when you want to buy airline tiockets and realize that your NZ salary just doesn't let you pick those up very easily.
Ireland would be my choice over the UK. It does everything the UK does well enough, and offers a few goodies on the side the UK doesn't have. Both UK and Ireland are economically very strong places to be, but the professional opportunities you get there come at the price of very expensive daily bills (I know because I've lived there).
The US are a place you need to love for its own sake. It's a place you'd need to have a passion for, because honestly, there isn't that much going for it in terms of reason (I know, too, because I studied there).
To sum it up:
If you have high qualifications, and want to earn heaps of money, choose the US or UK.
If you have medium qualifications and still want to lug home some cash, choose Ireland.
If you don't care about money and want lifestyle, no matter how old the Toyota or how white the toast, choose NZ.
If you want to earn lots of money, don't have kids, and aren't easily scared of wars and crime, choose the UK or US.
If you are moving for more romantic reasons, are looking for character and lifestyle over money, and have a family or are thinking about having one, then prefer a quiet backwater, and choose NZ or Ireland. |

Yes, the people are lovely in Ireland and New Zealand, in my experience. Also, in England and the States too, I might add. BUT, I have always found the lifestyle to be more relaxed, less stressful, more outdoorsy and therefore, healthier in NZ and Ireland. Good luck with your decision. |

Very likely. I think either would be better. |
