Would You Ever Consider Emigrating ?

A close friend of mine has just announced he intends to emigrate, he feels this country has nothing to offer, he wants a better life for his kids, say,s he feels estranged to is own country, a 130% increase in applications this year seems to back up his thinking.

15years ago i was headhunted by a company which i accepted because it seem like a fantastic opportunity in HONG KONG,rent free tax free all expenses catered for all i had to do was turn up for work and i was paid really well, being young and single it was great for a few months you can imagine, but then reality set in i missed london,no matter what is wrong with this country it's still the best even now i rather be here than anywhere in the world,so i cancelled my contract and came back

Mel
I live in the best country in the world, why would I want to emigrate?

Responsibility
I'm not sure which country you're from, but I'm from the US, and I've considered it. I don't know if I'll "end up" in another country, but I would love to live in another country for a few years. It's more of a "wanting to see the world" thing than a "wanting to escape" thing. However, when Bush was elected, I wanted to flee!

It's sad that your friend feels that way, regardless of what country he's talking about.

molly
No that's why my parents brought me here so my siblings and I could have better life and I thank God every day they did.
If I had to immigrate it would be to New Zealand is that where you friend is going to.

I'm Aussie and I have emigrated and returned, and I would like to do so again at least once more for the cultural experience it gives (with my kids this time). Having traveled fairly extensively I know there is nowhere better to live than here in Australia.

GRAHAM A
Yeah def. I feel the same, i want so much more for my kids than here. Jst need to convince the other half. I think it would offer a different kind of life altoghether.

Lizzie
Emigrating is becoming an increasingly better looking option. If I was to emigrate it would definitely be to Australia as much of my family lives there and the lifestyle is a lot better there than here in the UK - and I hate the cold! xxx
