You do realise its a tourism push, they don't actually want an Aussie for the job, otherwise why would they have bothered advertising all around the world.

Tourism Queensland are in charge of it, just the promotion they have received from advertising it has been massive. They want to attract tourists to the islands.

Not just anyone can apply, you need to be over 18, you need to be able to speak fluent English, be able to swim and snorkel, be able to appear in interviews and blog daily, you need to have no criminal record and be able to get a visa for Australia.

They are after a pretty face to help promote the area, they are going to use the person for interviews and such. They most likely will give it to a Brit or an American.

I would love to apply - but even it these hard time of all these Aussies loosing their jobs, they won't employ an Aussie.

They'll source some stick thin good-looking model from another country to fulfill the job.

The website is http://www.islandreefjob.com

Pass, I know what is involved in that job and it certainly isn't my dream job! It's hard work, the pay is too low and worst of all it's on an island which limits shopping oportunities, social activities and is way too close to the ocean and I'm a bush girl at heart.

I would like that job but I think I fit into the "can't be fagged" category.

I want to keep that 5 minutes of my life.
