Well you're a girl so you'll want to go shopping.
The 2 best places for clothes shopping are Chadstone and Chapel St, Sth Yarra.
See Flinders St Station and Southbank on the Yarra river. Lots of great restaurants, street performers.
For nature, go to Healesville Sanctuary, just out of town about an hour. It's a wildlife santuary you can see kangaroos, koalas etc. It's like a zoo but more natural.
Great Ocean Road. A trip to Melbourne isn't complete without it, it's a big day and you'll need a car or take a bus. Leave early and don't drive too fast along the windy highway. A great scenic drive.
The Dandenongs Park. Outer eastern Melbourne. Is a great place, lots of small friendly villages, fresh air and again natural beauty.
Port Melbourne for the restaurants.
St Kilda for the nightlife.
Should I go on?
Mail me if you need more suggestions. |

First I would spend a day or two just taking the trolley around town.
Definitely Museum of Victoria
Definitely Old Melbourne Gaol:where you can see the death mask of Ned Kelly.
A Must See: Phillip Island: Visit the island which is famous for its Fairy Penguins which each night at sunset travel up the beach from the water and up to the nest. The island also offers other wildlife such as wombats, emus, wallabies and other native wildlife and birdlife at the wildlife park. There is also a Koala Conservation Centre on the island.
Another Must See! Puffing Billy And The Blue Dandenongs: Travel on a traditional steam train called Puffing Billy through Victoria's beautiful Blue Dandenongs and visit parks abundant with birdlife.
A good idea would be to see a live show.
If the timing is right, see a sporting event such as the Melbourne Cup, the Australian Tennis Open or the Bells Beach Surf Classic.
And See the Grampians: The Grampians are the largest National Park in Victoria. There is many wildlife to be seen in the park and in summer the park is full of beautiful wildflowers. The park also displays original art work from the Aborigines and is an excellent area for bush walking. |

you have not seen melbourne until you have been to the footy at the MCG, depending on the timing try and go to the ANZAC day clash or final, the bigger the crowd the better, but on these big occasions expect to pay more and you will have to book in advance, home and away games $20 for adults $2 for children this includes the ABZAC day match, finals are generally about $50 for adults and $20 for children |

I'd look around the CBD, go to Chelsea beach (its before frankston and its beautiful! The water is crystal blue, sand soft as silk and there are cafes near by with the train station.) Also go see the MCG!! |

We spent 5 days in and around Melbourne a while ago and used a card which gives you free addmission to over 60 top attractions.
You can buy it in different day lengths (1,2,3 or 7 day card). We got the three day card which was only $129AU. We found it to be excellent value for money and saved stacks of money! You can buy the See Melbourne Card online from www.seemelbournecard.com
The Great Ocean Road is also a must! and the Otway Fly (600 metre long 25 metre high elevated tree top walk) which is near the Great Ocean Road as well. |
