I lived in Austria for a year about two years ago but not in Vienna. In Feb I will fly into Vienna airport and arrive around 9pm there. Just wondering if anyone knows if there is the underground train going into the city? and if so does it run late? I'm hoping i will not have to be stuck with a taxi.
and my other question is for any one familiar with club flex or Wombats hostel the lounge? does anyone know how far these are apart from each other and any other good recommendations?
Club flex and your Hostel are not in the same District, which means that you need to take the underground, bus or tram to get there.
If you want to go from the airport direct in to the club flex you would need a different mean of transportation as if you go direct in to the Wombats hostel.
Airport-Hostel BUS TO WESTBAHNHOF
take the bus until the last stop; it is cheaper and lets you just a couple of minutes far from the hostel. It operates every 30 minutes, the last one at 23.59h.

Airport -Club Flex BUS TO WIEN ZENTRUM/MORZINPLATZ
once you are at the Morzinplatz ask for the tram station of line 2. Get off in Schottenring (second stop). The club Flex is just a couple of minutes by foot.
From the Hostel to the Club Flex
Look for the U-Bahn station and take the U3 to Simmering. Get off at Volksgarten and take the U2 to Stadion. Get off at Schottering
There is a train/bus that directly takes you to the city centre at a minute cost as compared to a taxi. The frequency is quite good so you should be able to get something very quickly.
