No, I never heard "hall brook" before but I'm thinking it means the village Saalbach itself.

Saal = hall
Bach = brook

It's a word by word translation of the village name from German into English.

hi,
i suppose you found the word on this website: http://jugendgaestehaus-reichkendlhof.at/
never mind - hall brook means the same - it's a word by word translation.
come to salzburg - we know that it's better not to translate the name of our villages or town ;)
greets from salzburg,
nes
