called Ypps or Ybbs..its right on the danube in north austria..
help i can never find it on any map..i've been there!!!!

thankyou thankyou...i always thought it was YPPS, but it may be YBBS..its confusing if there is a twon called ypps then that is it. but one site is in german and i cant understand. are you austrian? |

Yes, it is Ybbs an der Donau (on the Danube), and I've been there. I've never seen anyone spell it "Ypps".

If you can read German, enter "Ybbs an der Donau" into a search engine, and you'll get a lot of information. (Even if you can't read the German, some of the pictures are quite nice.)
I wouldn't say it's a tiny village any more, but it's still a rural town that attracts people who want to kayak on the Danube and bicycle along it, the favorite sports in the area.
Later edit: I did a bit of crawling around on the Austrian sites, and found some industry in the area, but no reference to a Russian cooperative venture. Doesn't mean it isn't there. Maybe someone local will see your question and chime in. |
