Hotels in the center of Vienna, Austria?

I will be traveling with one other person to Vienna from May 8 - May 10. I have been looking at travel sites for hotels but my head is spinning. Can anyone tell me of a relatively cheap hotel located in the center of Vienna? (less than 100euros/night). Thanks in advance!

For less than 100 euros it´ll be difficul in the 1st district, the center of Vienna. However, tehre´s a Best Western located just off Kaertner strasse, that i think was not so expensice... maybe google Best western and look for "1. bezirk" or 1st district.
he 2nd district is OK too but you´ll need transportation to the major attractions inside Vienna. The 2nd is where the Prater is, the Park, which is very nice, and also there´s a State mental Institution and they let the patients go out during the day I tell you this becasue I was once very scared at the subway by a person acting oddly until my relatives living there told me they´re harmless, just strange, loud behaviour. You find them around the subway entrance on 2nd district and on Praterstern. But apparently they know that if they act violently they can´t go out anymore. That´s at least what my relatives told me. Good luck! :-)

expedia.com has may hotels in Austria with pictures and prices.

I was in Wien last winter, we stayed at a 4 star for 77 euro. Very nice.

It is in the 2nd district, which is across the river. If you are familiar with the area, the directions are simple. Get off the subway at Schwedenplatz. Walk across the bridge (which goes over the river). keep walking straight for about a block, the hotel is on the right side of the street, it is the first 4 star you will see.

Then again, I am the type of traveler who does not make reservations.

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. just go here: http://bookme.com/hotels.php and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it's very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.
