minimum price by law is 3.25 Euros for a pack of 20.
Price depends on brand. Marlboros (regular size) are e.g. 4.00 Euros/pack - those are one of the more expensive brands here.
In restaurants, at gas stations etc. cigarettes are often more expensive than in tobacco stores (Tabak Trafik).
Look out for that sign:

At places showing it cigarettes are sold at official prices. You find it mostly on Tobacconists (they also sell newspapers, postcards etc.) in smaller villages also on the local supermarket or sometimes at gas stations.
You must be 16 or older to smoke in Austria. If you want to buy cigarettes from a vending machine you must insert your bankcard first to verify your age. Might not work with foreign cards. Cigarettes from vending machines are mostly at official prices (though not if the vending machine is in a bar or restaurant etc.)
