How to enjoy Salzburg?

I wish there was some other way, but we're in a rush so I only have one day to spend in Salzburg? I'll arrive around 10pm the night before, then take off 9pm the day after. With everything that everyone has suggested me, I seriosuly do not know where I should go first.
Could I finish visiting the Mirabelle Garden, Mozart's House and other attractions before it gets dark? Then by the time it gets dark where should I visit to give me one memory of Salzburg that would last me a lifetime?

Salzburg is a lovely city. I would recommend that you go up to visit the Hohensalzburg Fortress for lovely views of the city. You can travel up by water-powered cable railway.
And you should just walk around and explore the old city...the Residenz Platz, Mozart's Birthplace, The Residenz Staterooms & gallery etc.
You would want to go to the Mirabell Gardens before dark, so you can get some good photos.
At night, the fortress is lit up...so if you want to take good photos make sure you use a tripod, no flash, and a long exposure.

Also, if you think you will spend more than 20 euros on admission prices to museums and other sights, then I would advise you to buy a 24 hour Salzburg Card which gives you free admission to many places, as well as free bus transport.
Have fun
