Stay in the Ringstrasse area, or the centre of Vienna (Innerstadt). That is where most of the best restaurants, pubs and cafes are. That's between Franz-Joseph Kai by the river to the north, Parkring to the east, Opernring to the south, and Schottenring to the west - respectively. Sterngasse, in the old jewish quarter by Schwedenplatz, has a high concentration of bars and nightclubs for instance. I have heard that Hotel Post which is near by, is a decent place to stay. Cheers!

I like to fly austrian airline for the confort, foood and service, plus they fly to eastern europe that is cheap for tourist and is uncrowded.
