Forget seafood. Austria is a landlocked country, and while you can get it, it's certainly not a local specialty. Tourist attractions? Just search here on answers, this comes up regularly.

Public transport, especially in the greater Vienna region, is very good. In Vienna you have an excellent system of subways and trams, with trains connecting the suburbs.

Shopping malls? There is a huge one in the south of Vienna, called "Shopping City Süd (Süd=South)", in the village of Vösendorf. It is actually one of the largest in Europe. You go there either by car, or taking the so called "Badener Bahn", a tramway starting at "Karlsplatz" in Vienna, next to the opera house.

The Austria capital has lots of ancient palais, castles and churches to visit, most of them are open for the public. Schönbrunn castle, for example: The have an exibition in the main building and in the mews plus a wonderful park with a zoo and an orangerie with palm trees and butterflies.
Or go window shopping in the city center and visit on of Viennas most famous landmarks - St. Stephens (the American First Lady has been there on June 21). On the outskirts of Vienna you find a shopping mall, the Shopping City Süd or SCS, nothing special for American standards, but there is a shopping outlet just an hour away from Vienna, in Parndorf, just take the motorway A4 direction Hungary.
For going out I recommend the Donauinsel, an "island" in the river Danube. You find all kinds of restaurant and bars there and a beach at the river. The Würstlprater is another viennese meeting point. The Prater is a large park, and one section is a all year round fair with collercosters, carousels etc.
Vienna has tourist tickets for subways and busses like every other city. It's called Wien Card. You get information on it on every hotel reception.
Nice holiday!
