You need to really specify what type of deals and discounts you're talkin of!! You haven't stated where you're flying from. Please give this information.
If from India, I would take the direct Austrian Airlines/Air India flight via Mumbai to Vienna. That's the cheapest air deal. Then, I'd take an inter-city train to Salzburg (if that's where you wanna go) or to any other city, for that matter.
As I have been saying in my last few posts about Austria, when out of Vienna, stay in a "Gasthof" rather than a hotel. Gasthof = guesthouse - but these are better in quality of stay than hotels and obviously cheaper.
Just go on to Yahoo! and search for "Gasthof [city name]" and you're bound to come up with loads of options. Make sure you book your flight and accommodation separately. Packaged holidays arent usually worth it! For more info on sights+sounds, etc:
