Is Vienna, Austria a city or state?
I know its the capital of Austria but it is considered a Bundesland (State) of Austria. Doesn't that mean it should have a capital of its own? Or is it like a Federal District like Washington D.C.
Austria has nine "Bundeslaender" (states), and Vienna is one of them. So it is a city and a Bundesland (state) at the same time.
The rest is:Burgenland, Kärnten, Niederösterreich, Oberösterreich, Salzburg Land (as opposed to the city of Salzburg), Steiermark, Tirol,
and Vorarlberg.
