Planning a trip to Austria & Switz., w/ several stops. Where on the web may I buy? |
We wish to have two rooms and stop at several ski areas and Vienna. My experience with Expedia and Orbitz has so far been frustrating for this although I do use both for quick iz trips and destinations vacations. |

I recommend to buy only the flight with a big travel agency. And move on train & bus networks both Switzerland and Austria. Swiss rail company website (link 1) sells you train-bus tickets and also has a hotel booking system (if stay in Switz. 7 days or more, consider a Swiss Pass - link 2). Similar for Austria (link 3), but no weekly or monthly passes. |

For hotels, try http://www.venere.com
I've used them for booking a few hotels on our last vacation to Europe. Once you find the place you want to stay, see if they have their own website - it may offer a better rate than those offered through internet booking websites. For example, Austria's - www.(name of hotel).at or .ch for Switzerland. You can try to google it as well, but sometimes the hotel's own website is a few pages into the search.
For train service, check the websites mentioned by the previous poster. |

i dont know where you would look, but in Austria be sure to go to Salzburg and go on the Sound of Music Tour, it is REALLY GOOD! In Vienna have fun shopping!
