Hofburg and Schoenbrunn (two residence houses of the Habsburg family, the latter has beautiful gardens which were supposed to be more impressive than the Versailles when designed)
Hunderwasserhaus ( a house built by an architect who thought straight lines were boring .... a real curiosity and fun to see)
Belvedere - another beautiful palace
Stephansdom - a stunning gothic cathedral in the city centre
a walk along the Ringstrasse to see the city centre
I also liked a small church off the busy city centre - turned out to be the oldest church of Vienna, St Florian's - a beautiful and old statue of the saint hidden among some bushes
Try any guidebook or wikipedia to see the pictures. You won't be dissapointed though if you see what I suggested. I'm also sure you will find something you really like yourself.
Have fun!

Vienna is a wonderful city, full of art and beauty. There is so much to explore and discover. Vienna offers a truly enchanting Christmas experience. The festive season starts over there when the first Christmas markets open in mid-November. The streets of the Spittelberg quarter, just a few steps away, provide a very romantic Christmas atmosphere. To book a good hotel in Vienna to go http://www.scoobit.com and fill the form with city name (Vienna). I stayed in the first hotel on the right: nice and clean place. But feel free to choose the hotel that best fits your needs. I booked from scoobit.com more than once now, it's a safe website and you can book online. Vienna is a great city to explore, and was impressed by how easy it was to get around. A city never to forget. Really.
