I don't know about any diamond mine in Austria..

The food is disgusting and really unhealthy! It's mostly fried in unhealthy oil and most of it is meat with a lot of fats and calories!

The people are VERY unfriendly and most of them are over 60 years old.
Everything is overpriced, you pay more than 3$ for a 32oz of soy milk.

It's very hard to find a good job, a lot of people are jobless and the wages are very low, so low you can't afford living.

Houses, flats, condos are very expensive.

The taxes are too high. If you have a job you pay ~50% of the gross wage.

You even have to pay for having a dog, if you go for a walk with your dog in Vienna, and your dog takes a dump in a lawn or on the pedestal, you have to pay a fine of 80$

Their language is German with a terrible accent.

There are plenty more cons..

The language is German, but local dialects can also be heard. Most speak a little English, and anyone in High School has at least four years of it, plus another language besides German.
Austrians, like Germans tend to be better educated on average than the average US or Canadian citizen.
The food is good - not unlike North American cuisine, it's a mix of many nations way of cooking - but different from our cuisine here. Austria is noted for great pastries and cakes!
It's a country of many faces -- from the lowlands and vineyards of the Wachau (down to Vienna), to the foothills of the North East to the mountains running down the center of this small country, you will find much to do and see.
There's history, and towns which have celebrated their 1000 year existence are not rare! Think about this for a little while.
below a few links in English

There are caves in Austria where they mine beautiful crystals.

Austria has some history with Hitler and Nazis.

The sound of Music was based on Austria's history and culture
