Some things to do in Austria?

First of all Austria is favous for it's skiing resorts and the Alps... So in winter you can go skiing- in summer hiking and climbing!
Tourism is very important for the Austrian economy!
Very famous for swimming are the lakes in Carinthia...

Vienna and Salzburg are famous for it's culture... and in Vienna there's a UNO quater... and a lot of big congresses take place in Austria (because of it s location in the center of europe... )

hi,
try http://www.austria.info/xxl/_site/us/_area/416153/home.html - it's the website of the austrian national tourist office, there you'll get loads of information on what to do and what to see in austria.
i hope this helped a little,
greets from austria,

Hi,
Austria is a very outdoors and culture orientated country. Skiing is naturally their best known sport. (Downhill and cross country) Other summer sports are; hiking, climbing, mountain biking, river rafting, fishing to name a few.
Culturally, the Austrians are very musical and enjoy the theatre. (Folks and Classical) In the summer you will always find a folks fest with music going on some where.
Sight seeing in the historical cities and beautiful mountains is naturally what you have to do between your sporting and cultural activities.
Austria is a modern country as well and for high school age kids there are the same activities as in North America. They even have american football, baseball and rugby teams for example.
I hope your daughter gets a chance to see this wonderful county herself.
