I am a student who come to salvador to follow my research in federal university of Bahia.
I have a financial support for this trip but i don't know that is it enough for a six month period living in salvador or not? (My salary is about 550 USD monthly)
During my life in salvador i need a two pieces apartment contains 1 bedroom or even a studio which was close to my university with following address:
Rua Aristides Novís, 02 - Federação 40.210-630 Salvador/Bahia
It is very necessary for me to know that how much i should pay for this six month period to schedual my travel programme.

Well, we were in Salvador a few months ago. We stood a pretty cool place. Mansion Villa Verde, you can pretty much rent a room there. They are pretty decent rates and quality. I know he does some long term rentals. The rooms have fridges and stoves in there so it's somewhat like a studio. It is in Bara neigborhood, which is pretty safe. The owner also speaks english, which was very helpful.

$550.00 is about 1050 reals. You should be able to live on that but don't plan on throwing any wild parties. You can check out www.atarde.com.br. This is the website for Salvador's main newspaper. On the left hand side of the page, click on classificados, then imoveis, and finally aluguel. Here you will find listings of apartments for rent by neighborhoods. If you download Google Earth, you can put in the address of the University and you can look at the surrounding areas and get an idea where you might want to live.
BTW I hope you understand Portuguese. I know where Federacao is, but I don't know which university is located there.
