Americans living in brazil?

weve been reading alot about retirement in brazil ,and homes on the water reasonable .are there schools for younger children .is it as reasonable as they say for americans and safe,what about healthcare

Listen Iam Brazilian but lived in Michigan for 24 years...today i live in suburbs of sao paulo and have a beach house 30 feet from the ocean .i paid 30.000 dollars for the house,today 7 yrs later worth 80.000dollars ..I love Brazil iam 47yrs old and practically retired give english classes at 30 dollars an hour ...lives great... so yes if you have like 300.000 dollars from selling ur stuff there you will live pretty good here...ps my house 3 bedroom 1 suite 220 square mt. my e-mail is nelsonbrazil1962@yahoo.com.br if you do write say your the american-retire that way i'll open the mail cool take care

We're looking too, for teaching jobs in Brazil, math and chemistry, secondary school level but the internet is just useless - I hope you can find some good info because we sure cant !

If you can afford private school, than that is fine.
Health care is rubbish, you may have to pay for health plan and go private if you need a treatment.
You must be very aware of your neigbhourhood before buy anything there, I lost a house there because a gang of drug dealers moved into the area where the house was and no one stop them, take them out.
You can find lovely places to live in Porto.
