Anybody ever lived in Brazil? Transfer possible, we live outside Nashville now.?

My husband works at Nissan in smyrna TN. Nissan is opening a plant in Brazil and I think it would be cool to move there, at least for a few years. We have three kids ages 11,9, and 3. What do you all think?

No matter how long, the experience could be a very rewarding one for all of you.
First, would it be good for your husband's career?
Second, talk to your kids before making a decision.
Third and most important of all, consult the American Embassy in Brazil nearest the area where the plant will be opened to learn about all your needs etc...
You all will be certainly welcome in Brazil!
Good luck!

I'm brazilian living there. It'll be a preasure answer all questions about my country.

I have kids ages 16, 13 and 3. Brazil it's a very nice place to live since you have money.

I have a italian client where I heard: "to send people to Brazil, we have two problems: first they want not to go; second they want not to come back".

PS: sorry for my English.

Yes, you got to go to Brazil, it is a really beautiful country with nice people, good wholesome natural foods, exceptionally good weather, fine beaches, nice modern homes being built allover, sky scraper apartments, modern everything now! It will be an experience of a lifetime and you only have one lifetime!

It would be a tough thing to move an 11 and 9 year old, especially to a foreign country where the vast majority doesn't speak english. its hard to get around, much less make friends, when you don't speak the same language.

If it was just you and your husband, or if all your kids where 5 and under, then i'd say go for it. otherwise it'd be more trouble than you think.

wonderful place to raise children .. great people .. beautiful culture

Go for it. I am considering Argentina, Brazil, or Peru on my agenda.

Ask your kids if they want to be taken to a foreign country to live.
