Are there voltage differences that I should know about when going to Brazil? |
Can I bring my ipod charger, cell phone charger, curling iron, etc and just plug it into the wall in Brazil? Or do I need an adapter? I am from California and wondering if there's a big difference in voltage between the US and Brazil |

Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte and most of the South are 110V. Brasilia is 220V. The good hotels in main cities have different outlets in different voltages so you can use any small appliances you bring. Some hotels offer adapters at no charge.
Be aware that wall outlets in Brazil use the round pins, not the flat ones like we have here in America, and you will very seldom find the ones with the three holes, so you will need adapters for that too. |

In Brazil two types of tension of 110W (in the state of the Paraná exist, in the south) and of 220W (in the remaining portion of the country)… Ok! kisses |

Depends on where you are going. Some cities in Brazil are 110v and others are 220v. Sao Paulo city for example is 110v. Neighbouring San Jose dos Campos, barely 70 miles away is 220v. |

Most hotels put tags on the wall informing the voltage. Most places here are 220v, but some places like SĂŁo Paulo are 110v. |

In Florianoplis, Santa Catarina there is a voltage difference. In places like Sao Paulo, Sao Paulo it is the same. Ask me questions because I'm Brazillian. |

Most voltage in South America is 220 volt. You have to check the actual location and hotel to see if they have a 110 converted system or if they are on standard 220. If they are on 220, you can always buy a converter that will allow you to use your 110 electronics, but you have to watch the wattage on things like hair dryers and curling irons. |
