It's normal because Brazil has the largest japanese population in the World outside Japan, of course. Almost 2 million of Japanese descent lives in Brazil. Mainly in São Paulo and Paraná, but a lot in Rio de Janeiro, Mato Grosso and Amazonas, also.
First Japanese immigrants landed in Santos, São Paulo, on June 18, 1908 aboard a steamship named "Kasato Maru" .
Note that Brazil is a nation of immigrants. Brazil is a multiracial nation like USA. More than 50 nations immigrated to Brazil. Only from Europe, 25 nations, including Holland (search for "Holambra" an "Expoflora" in my Youtube favorites), and other 25 nations from the rest of the World.
If you are curious about Dutches in Brazil (I can suppose this due to your faily name): it's not official but 3.5 million of descendants of Dutches are estimed in Brazil and people are not taking on account the Dutra family (myself I'm a member of this family). Dutra is a name derived from Van Huerter. Van=de, so, Van as replaced by de. So, de+hueter > dutre > Dutra.
Brazil is the largest Portuguese nation (32 million of descendants), largest Italian nation outside Italy (25 million of descendants), second largest German population outside Germany (18 million), largest Arab nation outside MIddle East (15 million of descendants), largest Japanese population outside Japan (1.8 million) and we have millions of European descendants from Spain (15 million), 5 million of Slavic (2 million from Poland, 1 million from Ukraine, 300,000 from Russia, 250,000 from Hungary and the rest from Croatia, Czech Republic, Belarus and LIthuania, among others) and 3.5 million of descendants of Dutch.
I invite you to learn more about Brazil watching my favorite videos in my Youtube channel. You will find all these ethnic groups that we have in Brazil in my favorites:
