Brazil Questions!!! (please read)?

Hi, i am doing a project for school and it is about Brazil. For one part of the project, i have to elaborate on the following questions....

1. Name two important events that happened in Brazil (Can't be sports)

2. Name one person who made a difference in your country.

So yeah, im not looking for detailed answers really, i just kind of need an idea of what to work off of. Its okay to be general (for example: if i was doing cuba, just saying fidel castro would be fine). So if you can just answer the questions i would apreciate it!

a few things you should reasearch:

1)
- the dictacture in the 60's. It changes Brazil a lot
- the slavery in Brazil
- the indians's story of Brazil

2)
a)Fernando Henrique Cardoso (the best presidente we had in most recent years). He ended our years of absurdly high inflation...
b)Presidente Getulio Vargas, beloved by many brazilians, he helped the poor
c) don't laugh, but in my opinion the super model Gisele Bunchen made a different in our country by making the whole world see us as a fashion world and we are not a country that has only Carnaval and soccer, but much much more.

Other things:
Fernando Collor was the worse president even though his fundamentals had a good point but he didn't know how to put his theories in practic... he was a thief! the worst kind... you should mention him ...

good luck

It isn't my country, but ... The military coup in 1964 led to a repressive dictatorship, and democracy was restored in 1985.
President Fernando Henrique Cardoso was an effective economics minister and president.
Yo, Gypsykin: nothing wrong with someone asking foreign-born folk for personal input on questions relating to their country; what does www stand for??
