Can I use my Discover Card in Brazil?

If so, do they charge a fee to exchange the money?

Show all answers

nellie
Discover is a national brand, meaning that merchants that accept Discover are only located in the United States. You can use MasterCard and VISA cards internationally, but in most cases they will charge rates on every transaction performed. Check the card's terms and conditions or call customer service for the exact fees that will be charged per ATM and merchant transaction.

I've been told that when I'm in any foreign country, it is best to go directly to a bank for exchange in money. Do not go to any international exchange booth at airports or on the street... they are notorious for not giving you the best exchange for your buck.
