Oh, yeah! In Brazil, people love trance. A dj, a good one, definitely would have a job here.
And about the visa, it´s really complicated. A lot of paper work and pacient to get a work visa. If you want, you can come with the tourist visa and work anyway. But at the time you leave, you should pay a fee, depending of how many extra days. You don´t need to pay it, unless you intend to come back latter. If so, you can pay in return. |

Here are some websites to get your started re: visas and working in Brazil.
Be sure to visit the forums on the gringoes website. You'll find many questions and answers posted that will surely assist you in answering your questions.
I'd personally recommend that your friend first visit Brazil w/ a tourist visa, checking out a few cities that he may want to live. Brazil is about the size of the USA. As you can imagine, being a DJ in the USA can vary considerably based on which city you're in (Seattle, New York, Los Angeles, Miami, etc). Of course, the cost of living will vary from one city to the next as well, whether in the USA or in Brazil. Overall, the cost of living is LESS in Brazil. But, the pay will also be less.
Is there a market in Brazil for DJ's from other countries? Good question. Would a club in the USA want to have a DJ from Brazil??? I have no clue. |
