The cost of living in Belem is high however lower than Sao paulo, Belo Horizonte and Brasilia. Rents are very expensive.
For a visitor, you could survive well on a budget of US$140.00/day hotel + food (considering the exchange rate 1.00US = 2.20BR).

Belem is one of Brazil's largest cities according to a poll, in addition to being in the middle of forests and has few beaches!

To survive you have to spend more or less a 100 reals per day depending on what they will spend there, things are more expensive way is no excuse not to stay there.

It is a beautiful city, Pimpa, not too big but not small, makes currency with 4 cities and is good there
