ah.hopeful
hi my sweet Friend UlkU
I am the Egyptian you emailed before, remember me?
Egyptians majority are Muslims, the minority are Christians and Jews.however being a minority in a country of enormous population(70 millions) like Egypt makes a good no.also Christians play a big role in Egypt's social and economic life, attributed to the fraternity among different religions that we enjoy in Egypt.
Egypt is a country of tolerance and hospitality, that 's why any other country that dealt with Egypt ,even through occupation, were influenced by the Egyptians, and ofcourse our culture is affected by so many other cultures, without losing our original preserved, tolerant and religious original culture.
there were many debates held about"who are the original Egyptians?"Romans,Arabs,Turkish,...?we were occupied by England for 70 years,by france for just a couple of years, and ruled by Turkey for a long while, and before all of these events Arabs entered Egypt to spread Islam, and before this Egypt religion was Christianity, and before this there was the Pharoas, that's wbelieveds beleivd that Egyptians are pharoahs at the origin.
we used to have Greek people,Armenian people,Italian people, and till now there are remains of these people.imagine how many cultures coexist in love and peace in Egypt.
i dont have to tell you how many times we were occupied, the last time was our battle with Israel 1973,and we beat'em.anyhow our wars taught us a lesson;to avoid wars in order to enjoy peace.Forget about those who hurt you,and try to find a chance to befreind'em.we beleive in peace, and love our old enemies, except Israelians because they are still occupying our dear Palestine, and torturing our brothers in Palestine.
Egypt is famous for its monuments,we have pharoahs monuments:the Pyramids,Sphinx, the valley of the kings,Aboussembel temple,...,Islamic splendid ancient mosques;Amr Ibn El-***,Mohamed Ali,..,Christan magnificent churches;Saint Catherine monastery, the suspended church, the way to the sacred family journey,.. ,we have Roman Monuments;"the greek roman theatre",the greek roman musuem,...and lots and lots...
as a society,we are preserved and religious.our society is relatively dynamic,i mean people of low or middle class are very ambitious and willing to change their lives in a better way.as a country we are socially open to other cultures,i can say we are affected by'em,but still there are certain ideas we cant accept;homosexuality, sex before marriage, boyfreind.
for music,we have old oriental music which i adore, best singers:"OmmKalthoum,Abd ElWahhab,Abd ElHleem,...",and we have modern music that has beat ,best singers"Amr Diab,Angham,Sherine,.."
the official language is Arabic since Muslims need to speak Arabic to recite The Holy Quran.the first foreign language is English, the 2nd language is French.and then Italian and German and Spanish are most popular.
our food is mainly orienta, that well known for being spicy, and has sauce, and onions,parsley,garlic,..
favourite dishes ad very popular indeed"Molokhia, rokak, lentil soup,fatta,mahshi,.."
ask about these dishes in an Eyptian restaurant or when you kindly visit us in Egypt.
i hope i could help you:))

My Mexican people are a family people. We always like being around each other. A lot of our dishes involve many good meats and vegetables (if you're a veggie person too). We have loud classical Mexican music and modern Spanish music. Happy beer drinking and good conversation with kids running around playing who knows what but it doens't matter because they are happy. Grown-ups make jokes that my American side doesn't really get. It's great to be a Mexican. It's even greater to be Mexican-American.

VIVA LA RAZA!
