Why foreigners think that Brazil is Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo and a desert? Only because you don't heard about the other states and cities it doesn't mean they're poor.
EspÃrito Santo is a bit poorer than São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro but the difference is not visible.
Now, the capital of EspÃrito Santo (Vitória) is a very violent and hot city, I advice you not to live there. MY OPINION.
