That is an interesting question. Normally, ALL Americans must have visas to enter Brazil. However, if you are going to Brazil as a part of a US MILITARY GROUP I am unsure. You should check with your superiors. If you're not going b/c of military you can probably contact a reputable travel agent in your city & see if they can assist you in getting your trourist visa for Brazil. They'll likely need to borrow your passport for a week or two so that it can be mailed (via a special courier) to the closest Brazilian consulate. A tourist visa is good for 5 years and allows you to stay in Brazil for up to 6 months per year.

As it pertains to traveling around the globe on military duty... I can't imagine that our guys serving in Afghanistan and Iraq had to get visas!

Yes. We are in the US Army, and you need a visa to go unless you have orders to go, which I doubt:)

Look up a local consulate. It could take a few weeks, so go as soon as you have your plane tickets. They need to see proof that you will return.

Have fun.

Yes you need a visa.

You don't need a visa, however, if you're on official tour for the military. You should know this already if you're actually in the Army, and not have to ask on Yahoo Answers.
