In Brazil, president Gaspar Dutra instituted the National Day of Thanksgivings (Dia de Ação de Graças), through the law 781, of August 17, 1949, for ambassador's Joaquim Nabuco suggestion, animated with the commemorations that he sees in 1909, in São Patrician's Cathedral, when ambassador in Washington. In 1966, the law 5110 established that the commemoration of Thanksgivings would feel on fourth Thursday of November. This date is commemorated for many families of American origin, Christian churches, Methodist confessional universities and English courses.
It is not holiday, in Brazil.
