Definitely YES. I laugh every time a black brags about living the tough life in "DA HOOD", they ain't seen nothing. On top of that poor people here get well fare checks and gov assistance, in Brazil there's no gov assistance, which translates to no $ you're going hungry.

Yes in general. The crime rate and gang activities are worse in the Brazilian Favelas and the infrastructure is much worse in the Brazilian favelas. I am a pastor/missionary and we work significantly with the gangs (policia mineira) in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro. While I lived for 12 years near New Orleans I never saw anything as rough or bad as Rio. We have had people we work with decapitated.
