Excluding Rio de Janeiro, what's the other city of Brazil you liked?

I don't have anything against Rio de Janeiro. By the way, I think it's one of the most beautiful cities of Brazil. But what's your other opinion?

I loved Florianopolis. Beautiful city, plenty to do, friendly people, lots of shopping, surfing, beaches, and such a laid back atmosphere.
Curitiba was also pretty neat as well, but Floripa won my heart....lol :D

I think Florianipolis is much better than Rio, that is my opinion. It's truly a beautiful city, there is so much to do there, great places to visit, the beaches are amazing, there are several different beaches, the city is so clean and the people are great.

Forget about Trancosos answer, what a negative guy. Rio is beautiful and full of stuff to do, nice and friendly people. Of course you have to take care about safety issues, but you will have fun there for sure.
Considering you are going to Rio, which is a big city I would rather choose a smaller place to go. Florianopolis is really nice and it-s smaller but I would still prefer to see something more Brazilian than the southern states *which have much more european influence, especially german. Having said that, I would chose a place like Trancoso, a small town in the state of Bahia. The access is not as easy as to Florianopolis. To go to Trancoso, you will have to fly to Porto Seguro and drive by car of bus to Trancoso *not so long, but cant tell you exactly, maybe about 1 hour. In my opinion really worth doing it as you will find a very charming village where you will experience a more Brazilian flavor in everything, the weather is always warm, the people are more mixed, the food is more typical and spicier, the sky is amazing in the night, full of stars and the beaches are beautiful... if you are lucky you can go to one of the open air rave parties they organize at the Espelho Beach or Caraiva village *two beautiful places you need to visit if you decide to go for my recommendation. I guess you won-t regret it as its really a place to fall in love with *with the place of with someone in the place. Hope you go there and let me know how it was afterward.

in the Brasil there is many good place .. but 1 thinked the answer above racism .. the people wrote it .. dont have a good head.. indepent of color people .. we ´re equal .. i think the world only will improve .. if the world dont have a racism .. and violence ..so the racism too be a form of the violence ..

it´s a place with a lot of black and brown people, living in favelas, muggers are all around, mosquito (dengue) epidemic, civil war, stray bullets, garbage in the streets, pollution, noise and that piss stink everywhwre.
Rio is really beatiful, but from up there
