Going to Manaus, Brazil in May. We also want to see beach. Can we drive from Manaus to Natal?

Will be in Brazil for 18 days, have the Manaus jungle cruise, fishing and partying planned but we also want to see other parts of Brazil. What is the best way to get to the Northeast beaches?

No, dont do that, roads are vicious and its VERY far.
But the Natal option is very good, its a beautiful city.
There used to be a US Air Force base there during WW2.
Just be weary when you book your flights to avoid going all the way to Rio for connections between the two, not sure there are direct flights.
Probably Brasilia would be the closet major airport or maybe Recife or Fortaleza.
Check www.buziosonline.com
Buzios is near Rio and has amazing beaches and a great tourism infrastructure.
www.abracadabrapousada.com.br is a great inn.
It could be easier to make your connections trhu Rio.
But Natal is nice, just very far from Manaus.
BTW Manaus is far from everything.
