i stil need some help
|
i have went to Brazil alone many of times, but when i went i toured the city by foot. but i hate to say it, but race plays apart, because i am a black male, and when first got there i was scared, but i walk up and down the beach, i want to see more, i looked at how the people around me dressed, and what i did was went and brought some flip flops, put on a tank top and Short's and no jewelry. i walk for along and seen some way out stuff there! but if u do that then only walk so each day, and u'll see more food place's to eat, and just see how they really live. also take some money with you, and remember the name of you hotel. so enjoyed.. |

I went to Brazil by myself at 25 years old. I passionately hate tours as they skip over things that you like. Enjoying them is so dependent on getting a good group - it could be full of people with nothing in common with you. Rather stay at youth hostels (34 is still young!) and meet people there. |

go to a bunch of wesites and get fodors brazil used copy on
amazon.com...i would not use a tour company since prices are
more expensive than normal..if your alone, get that travel
guide on brazil and or go to travel here..your gonna end up
in rio on the way and way out...there are many cheaper and
nicer cities to be in ...if you can read..try yahoo.brazil..
virtualtourist.com
internationalliving.com
fodors travel agents for brazil are:brazilnuts.com
go for carnival time...
get a yellow fever shot and hep a & b plus update your
vaccinations...jungle fever(dengue) is around..
4starbrazil.com is another good tour guide company
contact santours.com oakland, ca. for the best faresrazilian travel agency...goes there a lot..
get a plane pass before you go...
rj and sp are main cities...must see but cheaper outside these metros.. |

Not a bad idea if you use Tours Gone Wild, you'd be safer that way. However if you still wish to travel alone, you might want to start making new Brazilian friends where you live or in Brazil..sort of a penpal thing..get aquainted with what to look forward to, and all. |

Look for Lonely Planet - Brazil.
I could give you many tips and I suppose to see my country almost like a foreigner (I live in Brazil, northeast of Brazil, and also have lived for a long time in the extrme south Porto Alegre, next to Uruguay and Argentina).
If you tell me about some others travels, and about what you expect and liked to enjoy in Brazil.
Sorry for not writting english well. If you write in spanish, it is good, for it is too much similar to brazilian portuguese language.
Of course, I just could give some tipos , evn a lot of information, if you are a traveller not so diferent from my way of travel. I do not be in groups, for example. Ah! Take too much care: risk of robber and even life. If you ara note accostummed to travel alone in countries like Brazil, It is better to enter in a torurism group, although you will lose the best, to walk am9ong the people, try the true flavour of brazilian food, too much rich (diversified), mainly in Pernambuco, where still exists a popular carnival, not that commecial thing you see on TV, Rio de Janeiro, etc. Arghhh!...Even Bahia is already to much commercial and, so, artificial, not a genuine popular event (carnival, sao joao, natal, etc).
Good luck! |
