Well, I went to Brazil and stayed there for a few weeks as a tourist. I found it a fascinating country. Although there seems to be a considerable gaps between the rich and the poor, as a whole, the country itself has big potentials in terms of the scale of territory, the national character of the people, and abundant natural resources.
Brazil is also famous for its strong soccer and many other sports fields.
I think what you lack is a more vicious public relation activities to the world, so that your country may be known much more to the world.

In this order my thoughts are:

Thongs on nice butts,
Great Football.
Enormous poverty gaps in Major cities.
Corrupt police and government.
Deforestation of Rainforests.
Huge carnivals.
and Thongs on nice butts again i'm a man give me a break at least I stopped and thought about something else for a minute.

When I think of Brazil I think:
Carnival
Waxes
Beaches
Waterfall

Nothing in the press has changed my thoughts of the country, still consider travelling there.

A Brazillian fashion model once said "The Brazillian's are the most mixed race and the most beautiful". I see no reason to disagree.

You lot are kicking up a bit of a fuss over the shooting of an
"illegal immigrant"
but did nothing to help us with a train robber, and we are supposed to look after his son as well
also street children that have nothing.
and drug gangs shooting each other.
