Hi all, do you have any information about how to find work in Brazil? I would like to go there. Thanks?
I would like to spend a year or in case I like it even two or more years in Brazil. I would need to find some work there, so if anybody has any information about how to get a work visa for Brazil, and what kind of works can be found there then please let me know. Thank you
Jacqueline Additional Details The problem is that I am not a US citizen but a Romanian ( soon I wll have Hungarian too) so I am not a native speaker of English. But I am studying at the moment to become and English teacher. Do you think I could find work there as a teaher even if I am not a native speaker?
Thank you
Jacqueline
A visa that allows working in Brazil is not very easy to obtain. Usually you'll need a company that sponsors your visa and justifies the need for your expertise (more or less like in US).
There is allways the possibility to find an informal job, but it usually pays less and you'll have no legal rights.
If you're coming to Brazil for fun, I'm sure you'll find something; and Brazil as a whole is a very cheap country to live.
If you're a student, I suggest you to try get engaged to IAESTE and find an internship for a couple of months.

Hi, you can surely work as an English teacher (a native English teacher can make decent money in Brazil, since it's highly demanded). To have a working visa is not that easy, as far as I know. The best option, if you speak Portuguese well, is to try to find a job at a multinational in the US that would be willing to send you to Brazil. Then you have a salary in USD, which has a great purchasing power in Brazil.
