How can I go to the amazon rainforest for two weeks cheaply?

I am a v. poor student, and I have a great, great desire to go to the amazon rain forest, for about two weeks, but
a/ don't know how to get there as in who to go through
b/ how much it will cost

I am assuming you're in the United States.
That being the case, there are two options to fly directly from the US to Manaus in the heart of the Amazon rainforest, that's the capital of the state of Amazonas in northern Brazil. Delta has a new daily flight from Atlanta to Manaus (aiport code MAO). TAM Brazilian Airlines flights daily to Manaus departing from Miami.In terms of costs, it really depends when are you planning to go. Low season to Brazil runs usually from March to June and then August to November.
As for hotels, I suggest using travel sites like orbitz and expedia to find good deals depending on the dates you decide to travel.
