How long is a tourist visa valid in Brazil?

I was in Brazil last year and plan to go back in a few months, is my visa valid? Do I need to send off for another visa stamp?

Visto de Turista - valido por cinco (5) anos/years.

They're good for 5 years. If you read your passport where they approved it, you'll see. They do limit the amount the days you can stay per year, but if I'm not mistake it's like 180 days. So enjoy.

it should tell you on the visa..

i got mine 2 years ago.. and it says its valid for 5 years.

Sideshowknuck has it correct. You need to check your visa however because sometimes the consulate/embassy will issue you a one-time visa (which costs the same as the 5-year visa) and basically looks the same as the 5-year visa.

It is probably not valid anymore, but you need to check with the Brazilian consulate and what the visa says. (If it is just and in/out stamp it is not a visa)

Brazilian tourist visas are usually good for 5 years from the date of first entry. They are good for 180 days per year (meaning you can stay 180 days every 365 days) and usually allow for multiple entries just as long as you have not violated any of the terms of your visa.

Upon arrival in Brazil, the federal police usually stamp you in for 90 days with the chance of renewing for an additional 90 days by going to and requesting an extention at any Federal Police Station that has a service area for Foreigners in Brazil.

When you request an extention they will ask that you provide them with proof that you are not working in Brazil, meaning you are spending your own money. You can do this by showing them major credit cards, international atm cards, and even cash. They may also request that you show them a plane, bus, etc ticket, verifying the date you plan on leaving Brazil. Boa Sorte! (Good Luck!)

I was just there in October. I believe that they are good for 3 months.
