Entry of family pets into Brazil
Family pets, such as dogs, cats and birds may enter Brazil upon presentation of:
Health certificate issued by a local veterinarian and endorsed by the local Department of Agriculture - USDA, located at:
6300 NW 36th Ave, Miami, 33147
Phone: (305) 526-2926 - FAX: (305) 526-2929
The certificate must be legalized by the Brazilian Consulate.
Legalization is valid for thirty days from the stamped date of the US Department of Agriculture endorsement. There is no quarantine period on arrival of pet in Brazil.
Cost
US 20.00 per document in US Postal Money Order (available at any Post Office agency), payable to Consulate General of Brazil. Any other type of payment will not be accepted.
By Mail
Enclose a self-addressed and pre-stamped envelope for the return of the documents.
The Consulate General will receive correspondence sent via US Postal Service, as well as all courier services. However, the Consulate will only return documents via US POSTAL SERVICE such as: First Class, Certified, Priority or Express Mail. Documents wiil not be returned via any courier services such as: DHL, FEDEX, UPS, AIRBORNE and others. The Consulate cannot be held responsible for lost or delayed mail.
