As little as possible. I stayed there for three months with one suitcase, and really, clothes are quite a bit cheaper, and I really wish I could have bought more, but I just didn't have the room to take them home!
Remember to take pills, like tylonel, or asprin, because they may not be easy to find. Also feminine products if necessary, as well as something like pepto bismol, because travelling to a different country can upset your stomach (causing diarrhea, nausea, etc) with the change in food and water. |

Depends on the city you are visiting, but in terms of clothing you'll not need any heavy coats beause everywhere is warm.
You should check average temperatures, i.e. Sao Paulo

What and how much to pack depends on the area you will be visiting. In any case pack light. Clothes can always be washed & reused numerous times. Mix and match items are your best bet to get the most wardrobe out of a few pieces. |

It depends on where you are visiting. The north stays hot year round and the south gets cold in June, July, and August. Where exactly are you going to visit? |

I lived in Brasil for 2 years and it really depends on what you're doing in the country and where you're traveling. Most people have already talked about the different climates but my best suggestion is to leave ALL jewelry, especially diamonds and watches at home. Bring ID, Passport etc, but leave everything you can at home, extra credit cards, and anything of value. Brasil even though it has progress a lot in the last 20 years is still a 3rd world country with a lot of crime. If you can't afford to loose it, don't bring it, unless it is completely necessary. |

It depends on where and when are you going.
July might be a litlle bit cold, but you can get through with light cardigans. If you're going to the beach, just shorts, t-shirts, light dresses (don't forget the cardigan!) You might prefer to buy your swimsuit in Brazil (they are prettier).
Don't forget the sunblock. You can buy otc medications easily in Brazil. Tylenol has the same name (although we pronouce it differently), and also Advil, Allegra and some others.
It's easy (and sometimes, cheap) to buy clothes here in Brazil.
if you want more help, write me, and tell me where are you going to stay.
you'd better have a yellow fever shot before coming to Brazil.
Health insurance is opcional because all cities have public health care. |
