Foreigners will never be able to rent for the same prices than locals do. Locals can rent unfurnished for 32 months, having a guarantor, as assigned by the local laws, really cheap. You will need to rent for less time, furnished, with no guarantor. I´d say R$ 3000 / month. Here in Rio, for minimum US$ 150/day for a good house. |

It depends a lot on where and how big the house will be. The closest you are from downtown, the more expensive they are. North neighborhoods are more expensive than south.
