I was in Rio for a weekend some years ago and had an absolute blast. Let's see if I can remember what I did...

Went clubbing at night- Some really good house music it was. Rio night clubs are very fun, I highly recommend it.

I went to the beaches by day but did not swim 'cause the water is kinda not that clean even though it looks beautiful. Just hanging out at the beach and drinking some beers and walking around was enough fun for me. Had some excellent meals down by the beache. And check out that famous mosiac tile while you're at it. Take lots of pictures.

Went to see the big Jesus in the sky. This so well worth it. I did not have time to go to Sugarloaf, but everyone was talking about how cool that was too.

Finally, I spent a whole afternoon shopping at one of the big shopping centres there. I like women's fashion that are styling, yet not like everybody else. I found so many cool unique things there in Rio. It is a very cosmopolitan city with a much more sophisticated fashion sense than even some places in Europe.

Finally, I would suggest, if you can get a guide so that you feel safe, you might want to check out some of the shati towns. Like I am serious for real. I did not do this when I was in Brazil (did not feel safe, not enough time). However, I did do this when I was in Peru. It is a good way to broaden your horizons and educate yourself about the way people really live. It reminds us to be thankful for what we have, and to see how the world is still such an unjust place for so many. It reminds us of our social responsibility to try and rectify the situation in any way we can. Make sure you bring candy and money to hand out to the childrem.

I am obsessed with Rio. First... if you can... go see Christ The Redeemer. Then Go to Ipanaema Beach. If you can catch a cab about 1 hour north of the city there is a beautiful little town called Buzios with beautiful beaches and it looks like its right out of a magazine. If you like to go to clubs go to B.E.D or Roxy. Do not go into the Favelas foreigners have a tendency to get robbed. Have Fun Good Luck!!!!!!! O... and drink a Caiparinha and go eat some Feisuada

I guess you can do anything you like and be forgiven. I mean just look up on the hill. There's a statue of Jesus shrugging his shoulders, so I guess anything you do will be okay right?

Come to São Paulo and know a real big city, the place where the things happen.

Buy a thong/string bikini. If you don't wear it on the beach there, at least all the guys will flock over you when you get back home.

Take in Christ and Sugerloaf. There are lots of culture tours downtown--almost any hotel has 1/2 or day long tours. I've never been to Hard Rock but I believe it's just through one of the tunnels leaving Copacabana. If you really want to go there, ask the hotel and take a taxi. Enjoy and have fun.
