What is so great about Christ Redeemer statue? |
I couldn't believe that it made the list of seven world wonders!
How did it beat Timbuktu, Angkor, Alhambra, etc.?
It does not have interesting history or anything.

Teens here dress a lot like in the US. You just won't see any T-shirts related to American football or baseball or those high-school jerseys. Girls tend to wear baby look T-shirts, not the big T-shirts (like I used to wear when I was a teen. hehe ^^ ). Those only guys wear. And jeans is almost universal. In Brazil, jeans is the all time basic garmet. In School you'll most likely have to wear a uniform somewhat like this: http://www.ineicoc-uberlandia.com.br/upload/galeria/115/115_67_g.jpg
What school are you going to? |

Dear, unlike what thinks the Brazilian women don't walk semi-nude in the streets, I have a niece that is a lot similar to your description she has dozens of friends is admired by all and very popular in the school, it is also very respected and everywhere that she frequents, come calm the important is not the clothes that you use and yes your sympathy.
Well came of turn to our country. |

You´ll have no problem fitting it.
I´m currently on an exchange in Brazil from Canada. I find most of the clothing is normal and such. They have a store Hering which is VERY american and is well loved by Brazilians.. check out there if you have saudades for your good ol´american clothing.
You´ll find that people aren´t really judging and that all Brazilians love to practice their knowledge of English.
I guess style depends more on the part of Brazil that you are going to.
In São Paulo, people tend to dress up more. Where as in Rio de Janeiro, people are more laid back and casual.
In any case, your jeans and t-shirts are probably the most common clothing that I´ve seen in Brazil. In fact, the normal dress code for most Brazilian private schools is simply jeans and a standard T-shirt.

You'll been fine, don't worry. Just be yourself because if your not then people will think your fake. Think of it as a new start, they won't know what to think of you, you get a shot at a blank reputation.
Boa Sorte! |

I think your impression os correct, they tend to be more girly in Brazil. I too have a niece 13y she dress casual like a boy, like sports and even play football with the boys in the street, she is very friendly and communicative and immensely popular. You wil be alright there. |

Where in Brazil are you moving to? I take it you're wealthy. The favelas are a whole new world, but I recommend visiting them. The nicest people I met were in the favelas although they are far, far more dangerous than any ghetto in the US.
Brazilian teens (everybody) dresses to the 9s! It's all about style n swagga no matter how poor. Girls tend to wear thin, booty jeans and a nice sleeveless top and always earrings. Do NOT wear gold. The rich tend to be VERY spoiled.
Brazilians, rich and poor are some of the friendliest people I have met in my life. Far warmer than most Americans. They are also very happy people. |

Calma! O brasil é igual os outros paÃses, tem gente normal!! =D
Você vai se dar muito bem!!
E sobre os shorts curtos... A maioria usa porque faz muito calor, mais se você não gosta, não precisa usar.
Tô te esperando! Kisses! |
