Actually, there IS a town called Buenos Aires in Brazil. It is located in the Northeast region, in the State of Pernambuco.
It is a very small town, though - population 11.722. It is also kinda far from the only city in the State with an airport; are you sure they are shooting a comercial there?

About safety - hmm, it's a small town in the northeast. Be prepared for lots and lots of heat. And mosquitos. Get a certified tour guide. Don't wander off.

PS to those who were rude: people, check your facts before you decide to insult people's questions or you risk sounding even more ignorant than you thought they did!

there is no Buenos Aires in Brazil, i'm sure about that. you must be goint to Argentina or to some other city that it's not Buenos Aires.
In Brazil they speak portuguese and in Argentina spanish, and Buenos Aires is an argentinan word, in portuguese i think that it would be Bons Ares or something else similar.

Brazil isn't much safe you need to take care , try to ask for some advice from somebody that have been there before.

We have New York and Philadelphia, both very small towns in the Northeast (Maranhao), thus, we could have Buenos Aires somewhere in Brazil. Do a detailed search in the IBGE site- Brazil. No, Brazil is not safe. However, I live in San Francisco, and there are some areas here and in Oakland where the crime rate is astonishing. Just be careful anywhere in the world these days.

No such city dude. Are you crazy?

Is it safe in Brazil? It's like asking is it safe in America? Depend where you go dude.

I've been to Londrina, Brasil and to me, it's SAFE!

Please check your schedule carefully, Buenos Aires is Argentina not Brazil.

Brasil (Brazil) is Safe, we can say that less than 10% (too much) is dangerous place.

Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro is not Safe. Even inside of the airports. Always pay attention to your things

There is a huge gap between North and Souht. NE, Pernambuco, where perhaps are you going (?) can be interesting.

You can face some rednecks and not everybody are well educated at that region (NE is the poorest regionand also the most beautiful beaches are there.)

South are more like europeans.

Food in NE have a lot of spice. They use special oil from Palms and perhaps you can have intestinal disturbs during your first day.

NE is too hot (again, diferent from south). If you must travel there, it's better go with somebody. It's difficult, because there is not so many people that speaks english there (exception to Salvador - Bahia, Recife perhaps)

Usually people are very kindly. They love to play and do jokes. Brasilians can act as a old friends at the first sigth.

NE, small town, no problem dude, maximum that you will find is some pickpocket with 14 years old.

Enjoy and be sure that Brazil is only onle country but many diferent cultures.
