According to Laughing, I'm Portuguese-African-Indian-German-Italian... because I am a Brazilian of descent of all these people. However, to make it simple, I consider myself to be Brazilian, because Brazil was the land where I was born.
In that way, you're not Brazilian. Having an uncle living here doesn't make you Brazilian. He says you've got a "Brazilian spirit". This only shows that people are people no matter the place they were born. Despite diferent cultures and origins we're all human beings .

No. To become a Brazilian you should have either born in Brazil or get the Nationalioty of Brazil by following the process.

What in the world is John C talking about?

Is your father or mother Brazilian or were you born in Brazil? If not, you are not Brazilian.

John C., I am African-American because my ancestors were from Africa. An African from Kenya would be Kenyan-American, one from Nigeria would be Nigerian-American, etc.

Mexicans call themselves Mexican-American or Chicano, Italians call themselves Italian-American, etc, etc.

African-Americans CHOOSE what we want to be called and I don't care whether you agree with the term or not.

If your father was born in Brazil, you are of Brazilian descent. If your uncle moved to Brazil from somewhere else (that is, the family wasn't domiciled in Brazil when he and your father were born) you are not Brazilian.
By the way, they spell it Brasil. If you're going to be gung ho about it, try using their spelling.

You need to find out you r genealogic tree. Maybe someone of you relatives went ot Brazil before. I am brazilian and my parents are too. But my grandparents are from Spain and Germany. But my german grandparent married an brazilian indian... everybody in Brazil has descendents from somewhere form Europe, Africa or native indians.

NOT!

Why not? You can be like all of the blacks claiming to be "African Americans", when in fact approximately 97% of blacks in the U.S. were born in the U.S.A. So, you can tell your friends that you are a "Brazillian-American". True Americans are not hyphenated. My ancestors were from France, however, I am not French-American, because I was born in the U.S.A. The "African-American" identity sign was pushed by the self-appointed black militant "Rev." Jesse Jackson, who is always trying to stir discontent and divisivness in the black population.
