I need advise from someone who lives or knows Sao Paulo.?
I am joining a conference at the University of Sao Paulo (Department of Economics, in Cidade Universitaria) and I need to book a hotel close to this place. I have no idea how to search for one cheap close to the venue. I want to pay less than 75 dollars.
Can anyone from Sao Paulo recommend a nice and cheap hotel?
University conference organisers usually supply a list of suitable accommodation near the venue at various prices, with distances. It is much nicer to stay in accommodation where there are other delegates - walk back together (safer) or share taxis, chat on the way, meet over breakfast, etc. So ask the conference booking office as your first enquiry.

I recommend you get in touch with other people attending your conference and stay altogether in the same hotel. In this case you can share taxis, go and eat together, even shop together. Ask the people from the University organising the conference, most of the time the Universities have an agreement with certain hotels to give a cheaper price so that most of the people attending can lodge together.
