It´s necessary yellow fever vaccines, if you will visit Amazon Region.
The principal cities in south, south-east, north-east, it´s no necessary vaccines. |

If you are a U.S. citizen, there are no required vaccines for travel to Brazil. There may be different requirements if you are coming from a country other than the United States.
http://wwwn.cdc.gov/travel/destinationBrazil.aspx#vaccines
In fact, for U.S. citizens, there are no required vaccines for travel to anywhere in the world, with the one exception of yellow fever vaccine, required for travel only to certain African countries.
Unless you want to risk feeling miserable on your trip, I would advise against any vaccines this close to departure. |

It also depends on where you are going in Brazil and what you will be doing when you get there. If you are traveling in the Amazon or any part of Northern Brazil a yellow fever vaccination would be a smart thing to get. The yellow fever vaccination is good for ten years. You will be given a vaccination card which serves as proof of vaccination. If you travel from one yellow fever listed country to another, you may be asked for this vaccine card. For example if you were to travel from West Africa to Cuba.
Hepatitis is good as well. The thing is that if you are paying for vaccinations yourself some of them are very expensive. I went to my Doctor and discussed the vaccine " menu" with him, and picked out ones that he thought were a "must" and fit my budget. On the other hand I know many people who only have yellow fever. |

I think Hepatitis is a smart way to go even if its not mandatory...Hep A for sure, Hep B for added insurance. Getting smart vaccines for traveling and then picking out which ones you can't afford is not very intelligent. You can't put a price on your health. Please don't take advice online such as that and let your own physician tell you what you need. And get it!!! |
