Brazil is very big and u cant see it and one week and a half. if u like forests, natives, big rivers you should go to the north of Brazil (amazon). if u prefer beaches go to the northeast. The States of Maranhão, Pernambuco, Bahia and Ceará have good beaches. if u like the european culture, go to the south( rio grande do sul, paraná and santa catarina). if u like samba, soccer and beaches go to Rio de Janeiro. if u like History and old things go to Minas Gerais State. |

Brazil is a huge country almost the size of the USA, therefore travelling between places will take time. If you are going for only 2 weeks try to see the most popular sites such as Rio de Janeiro and perhaps visit some islands outside Rio which offer beautiful beaches, white sand and great atmosphere. Some places around Rio: Parati, Angra dos Reis, Ilha Comprida, etc...
The waterfalls called "Fox do Iguacu" is a bit far from Rio. You can take a plane there or drive for a day. It's really beautiful. Or you can go to the North party of Brazil with beautiful beaches and islands. Best places to visit: the city of salvador, lencois Maranhenses (Maranhenses sheets), and perhaps Porto das Galinhas, Olinda etc...
You got alot of homework to do now...

Have in mind that Brazil and almost of the size of the United States, soon you have to choose that landscape type you would like to know. In the north of the country we have the Amazonian forest. In the northeast we have paradisiacal beaches. In the center West we have the Central Plateau and our Federal Capital. In the southeast we have the Atlantic forest and Rio de Janeiro. we have also São Paulo that is a city similar to New York. In the South we have the prosperous rural area with colonization German, Italian and Pole is the coldest area of the country. it is there that it is the waterfalls of Iguaçu. In December it will be summer and in whole the 9.198 km of the Brazilian coast the beaches will be full of cheerful and entertaining people.
See in Google Hearth:
Fernando de Noronha, Pernambuco, Brasil, belongs to you to impress will get to see the bottom of the sea, due to water to be transparent.
